LSU Tigers and Tractor Driving

Well, today Blake and I went to the first LSU Tigers game of 2008! We had lots of fun, but it was VERY HOT! I got the "one sided" sunburn, the left side of my neck, left arm and left leg are all red. The stadium was not full this game, due to the fact that Hurricane Gustav is coming and they moved the game to 10am. The Tigers won 41 to 13, they played Appalachian St.

While we were at the game, Carson spent the day with Mimi and Pop's, helping them get ready for the hurricane. Carson had an awesome time riding/driving Pop's tractor and the excavator. Carson, you thought you were so big driving these, you had to show me how you drove the excavator as soon as I got to Mimi and Pop's house after the game.

Happy Anniversary, Hurricane Gustav and Haircut!

Happy Anniversary Mommy and Daddy! This day, 4 years ago at 7pm, mommy and daddy were getting married and then off on a 7 day cruise to the Caribbeans! Hopefully one day soon, we'll get to bring Carson on a nice vacation, we all desperately need it! Mommy is cooking Filet Mignon and baked potatoes tonight to celebrate!

Gosh, I don't know what to say about Hurricane Gustav, he is currently down by Cuba and they are saying once he gets into the Gulf of Mexico, he can hit anywhere from TX to Mobile, AL. So everyone has been running around trying to get all the supplies needed just in case he comes our way, which there is a good possibility! I think Hurricane Katrina is so fresh on every ones mind. Carson, mommy was only 2 months pregnant with you at the time, so we went to Mimi's and Pop's to stay safe. This year if Gustav comes this way, we will do the same since Mimi and Pop's have a huge generator that will run the entire house if the electricity goes off!!.

Carson, we finally went and got your haircut today! You LOVE getting your haircut! Every time we pass the place, you yell out that you want a haircut. I think the suckers that they give you when you go in and then again when you go out has a huge effect on why you like it so much! But you are always a good boy and sit very still while they cut your hair, of course all the while you are licking your sucker.

Lot's of fun today!

Carson and I started the day off by meeting a friend at one of Carson's favorite parks. Carson, you had lots of fun sliding, swinging, climbing the rock wall and riding in the little car.

After the park, we headed to Chuck E Cheese to help celebrate Olivia's birthday. You love CEC, you had lots of coins left over from a previous visit and you just went wild. You love riding all the little rides and playing all the games. I think your favorite game was the basketball game. We also had pizza and cookie cake to help celebrate Olivia's birthday.

You were not to thrilled about taking this picture, but mommy had to get a picture of us there, because I forgot our camera at home!!

Later today, we received a package in the mail from Nona and Gramps. Carson, Nona and Gramps sent you several books, with the Bob the Builder book being your favorite. It actually had a play saw that came with the book, oh, so much fun you've had playing with that book!

Notice the pink book in the picture, Nona and Gramps sent that book for Taylor. I did not know this when we first opened the package and thought...what is Nona and Gramps thinking, sending you a hot pink purse book :). Dada told us a few minutes later on the phone that they sent it for Taylor! How sweet of them to think of Taylor also!!!!

I LOVE YOU!

Today we spent the day at Mimi's and Pop's again, sitting with B.J. We went out and helped Pop's in the barn, as he built shelves for all of his "stuff" he has out there. Carson, you love Pop's barn, you could probably spend all day out there helping Pop's "fix" things, if we'd let you. Except, you do not like when Pop's uses the saw to cut wood, I guess because it's load and throws saw dust everywhere, but I'm sure like everything else, you'll get used to it.

Last night (Sunday), we spent the night with Mimi and Pop's, because Mimi has to be at work early on Monday's and it's too early to wake you up and to get to Mimi's on time in the morning, so it's better if we just spend the night. Well, last night while at their house, we were coloring and I kept writing "I (heart) U" on the paper and kept repeating it to you, well, you finally repeated it to me!!!! There's nothing more that warms a moms heart than to hear her child tell her that they LOVE you. Well, now I can say that statement is very true!!! My heart just beamed when you said that, I think I even got a little teary eyed.

Mommy and Daddy LOVE YOU VERY MUCH, CARSON!!!

The weekend and a yummy cupcake!

Carson and I spent the majority of the weekend at Mimi's and Pop's house. Saturday, we went by mawmaw's to see her new scooter. It's pretty fast, I tested it out :)! Then Carson and I took BJ home while Mimi stayed at mawmaw's to help "declutter" her house and get ready for a garage sale in October.

When Pop's and Mimi got home, Pop's and I had to mow their 10 acres before all the rain came from Hurricane Fay.

On Sunday, Carson spent the day with Mimi and Pop's while I went to a baby shower for our friend, Jayme, in our playgroup. I had lots of fun visiting with all the mommies. I even brought Carson a cupcake home from the shower and he enjoyed it very much!

A day at Mimi's and Pop's

Today, Carson and I went and stayed with BJ, since Christy needed the day off. Carson, we finally got your fishing pole out that you got for Christmas '07. You were a little to small for it then, so we had to put it up. You loved fishing with your Spongebob Fishing Pole! You are finally getting the hang of pushing the button and then releasing it to throw in the water and then reeling it back in. Also, you wanted to try and catch some bugs with the net that Meemaw and Peepaw gave you. Didn't have much luck catching anything, but you had fun trying.

Pop's also got a new tent today and you enjoyed helping him put it together and playing in it.

Oh, also we have a new vistor at Mimi's and Pop's, not sure how long she plans on staying, but she get's bigger each time we see her! We've named her Ms. Charlotte.

N.O. Children's Museum

Today, Carson and I went to the N.O. Children's Museum with Jenny and Addison. This was our first time to go here, so we were really excited. Carson absolutely was in Heaven. He loved everything, especially the huge train table. He also like driving the boats and playing with the bubbles and drums.

He was so excited, that at first he just ran around, because there was so much for him to do, he didn't know what he wanted to do first.

After playing, we headed over to a little cafe' called Lucy's. Carson, this is why we never bring you to a restaurant, because you never want to sit still, you want to constantly get up and walk/run around. Thankfully, Jenny had bought some toys at the museum, so this kept you and Addison entertained for a little while, then ya'll were constantly going in and out of the video poker room...yes, you read me correctly...video poker room. It was just a small closet size room with 3 video games and no one was using them, so we let ya'll go in and out. It kept ya'll entertained while Jenny and I ate.

Overall, we had a great day and plan to make many trips back!

Louisiana Art and Science Museum; The Doghouse

Today Carson and I went to a playdate at the LASM. Carson, if you could, you'd stay there all day and play at the train table. You LOVE it. You also gave it a go at washing dishes, but that didn't last long at all and back to the train table you went. After the LASM, we went to visit daddy at work and then went and had lunch.

Also, lately I've noticed that when you are really concentrating on something, you have to stick your tongue out...I guess it makes everything go better :) (notice in the second train picture you have your tongue out, and you can't really see in the dish washing picture, but you have your tongue out there too) Too cute!

After Carson's nap, we went to visit Mimi and Pop's. Pop's had just gotten in his new "Doghouse's", so Carson had to check them out. These are for Pop's and BJ when they go hunting, and I'm sure eventually Pop's will be taking you, so you'll get some use out of the also.

Poor Carson, stuffy nose

Well last night was a long night for Carson and I, Carson's nose was all stuffed up. Yesterday we spent the day at Mimi's and Pop's house playing. While Pop's bush hogged half of the property, Carson and I rode the 4-wheeler all around and then Carson's favorite, ride around in Pop's truck. Carson and I took Pop's truck and drove all around the property. Carson LOVES Pop's truck.

Well, yesterday afternoon we noticed Carson's nose was a little runny, then last night I think Carson woke probably every 1 1/2 because he couldn't breath.

So today, Carson and I stayed home to try and get him well. This is VERY unusual for Carson and I, we always do something, whether it be just going to the store, going to play with friends or going to the park. So today we cleaned the house, did all the laundry, watched cartoons and played with your cars. That is until Dada got home.

Dada decided he was going to mow the yard today and Carson, you love to follow your Dada with your mower and help him. Oh, and you had to have your hat on like your dada!

Air It Up!

Blake and I took Carson to the "Air It Up" show at the Baton Rouge Airport this past Saturday. While waiting in line to park, it started to pour rain, so we made a decision to go to Shoney's to have breakfast while we waited out the rain. On our way back through Baton Rouge, the rain stopped, so we headed back to the airport.
Carson, you LOVED the red helicopter that kept flying around. Everytime you'd see it, you'd yell, "Look, Helicopter". It was so cute. You got to sit in a Huey Helicopter and "drive" it, also you got to get into a Fire Truck. You love fire trucks (actually you call anything with lights on it "Rear Rear Trucks") .

Florida Trip 08/2008

Well we recently visited Pensacola, FL. We drove over with Mimi, Pops and BJ. JuJu, Taylor and Will were at Uncle Steve's parents house staying while Uncle Steve was "playing" in Alaska with some of his college buddies. Dada stayed at home to work and enjoy some "quiet" time. We all stayed at Meemaw's and Peepaw's (Uncle Steve's mom and dad) house, it was a little crowded, but everyone got along really well.
Carson, you loved the beach. I was so proud of you and Taylor, there was absolutely no fighting between you two this visit. Though you did have a couple "pushing" incidents with baby Will.

Pop's rented a jet ski for everyone to ride and we had a abosulte blast on that. Carson, you loved to just sit one on of the jet ski's while we were out riding. Also, Pop's and I and JuJu and Nene (Kayla) went Parasailing. Never thought in a million years that I would do that, but it was lot's of fun.

We will definitely plan a trip back soon!

Hmmmm Blogging

Well, it seems like all of my friends are blogging, so I thought I'd give it a try. I'm not a very good writer, but I'll give it a try.

This will be the chronicles of the Pickett Household, what happens in our day to day life. Hopefully I'll keep up with this.
