I guess we started potty training, just out of the blue.....
Last night, was like every other night, asking Carson if he would like to go try and potty before taking a bath...and we got the same old answer, "No, I can't"...ugh.
So, Blake had the idea of showing him a new Matchbox Firetruck he had bought him a couple days ago and had been saving for a "good deed" that Carson did. Blake told him, if he would tee tee in the potty, he could have the firetruck. Blake took one of those suction cup things and hung the firetruck on the mirror in the bathroom. We let Carson go without a diaper after his bath and kept telling him that if he felt he had to go potty, run to the bathroom and use the potty, so he could get his firetruck. Well after an 1hr and a half of running around, without pottying, I told him it was time to put his diaper on, because it was "night night" time, he took off running to the potty and tee tee'd!!! Blake and I threw such a big celebration about it, high 5's, hugs, the works. He was so happy to get his firetruck.
So today, after waking up this morning, I asked him if he wanted to try and tee tee on the potty, and he ran and tee tee'd!!! More celebrating took place and Carson and I headed to the store to buy some "potty prizes". His favorite is the miniature Reese's.
So the outcome of today's potty training....ready.....only one accident while outside playing. The entire day was spent in big boy undies and only 1 accident!!! This includes to and from Mimi's and Pop's house, out fishing in the pond, running around, all in big boy undies!! I did put him in a diaper for nap time, just because it was the first day, but I made him go potty before napping and he woke up dry! He went on the potty a total of 8 times!!! I'm so proud of him!
Now, tomorrow we will work on the sticker system. I've made a Potty Chart and he has to have at least 3 stickers before he gets a prize. Hopefully tomorrow will be just as good!!!

Carson's 3 yr check up!
Can not believe my baby boy is 3!! Today we went to the Dr. for his 3 yr check up, yes, I know, I'm a month late. Anyway, Carson weights 30.8 lbs and is 38" tall. She gave me some pointers for potty training, as Carson still has absolutely NO INTEREST at all in using the big boy potty.
On another note, thank goodness I had this appointment with the Dr. already scheduled, because Carson woke up probably every hour last night complaining that his ear hurt. So, he now has a really red infected right ear and a pink left ear. He is now on antibiotics for 10 days, ugh...Carson hates taking medicine!! But other than that, you would never know that anything is wrong with him, as he continues to act like his normal self.

Strawberry Farm
Yesterday, Carson and I went picking strawberries! What fun! The weather was perfect and the company great, we went with Anamaria, Bonnie and their kiddo's! Carson really enjoyed picking strawberries, he filled our carton up in no time! Now, if I could only get him to eat those delicious little red berries!
They also had tractors for the kids to ride, swings, animal petting, and face painting.

Festival Fun
Today, Blake, Carson and I went to the Redstick Animation Festival downtown. It was lots of fun, several "jumpy" things for Carson to jump in, face painting, clowns and lots of other things. We also got a look into the newly renovated Old State Capital, which is gorgeous!!
They also had a Blues Festival downtown today. We stopped on the way out and listened to them setting up/practicing. Carson wasn't too interested, but it sounded like it was going to be nice.
Not to excited about listening to the band

Color Accents
Yesterday, while Carson was outside playing, I wanted to play with my new camera. It has this neat function where you can do color accents. Here's just a couple that I took, I think they look neat.
Trip to see the Dinosaur's, Take 2!
Carson and I went to the New Orleans Zoo with our good friend Christine and her kiddo's Noah and Brooklyn. Carson has been talking about the dinosaur's nonstop since the last time we went. The kids had an awesome time running around looking at all the animals. The weather was perfect, though started to get a little hot by the zoo's end. And I am happy to say that we had no stinging caterpillar incidents this time, but I did have to lend our "After Bite" lotion to another little boy that got stung. Poor thing, those things just hurt!!
The start of our trip to the zoo...wild child's, they were so excited!
Carson climbing the huge Oak Tree
Looking at the Rhino's
Playing, while eating lunch
Posing in front of the big saw
They had to take a rest break
Checking out the waterfall
Ahhhh, this feels nice!!
And....they're out!!
LSU AgMagic
Tuesday, Carson and I went to LSU AgMagic with his playgroup. They had all sorts of displays, like, how paper is made, how plants grow, and lots of farm animals for the kids to pet. Carson and I went to this same event 2 years ago when he was 13 mths old. It's so funny to look back at the pictures then and now.
After the show, we went and had a picnic and the kids had a ball throwing sticks in the lake and playing.

Loving the Sun
Today Carson and I went shopping at the Tanger Outlet Mall for him a bathing suit, then headed over to this nice little "hide a way" park in Gonzales. It is really nice and perfect size for toddlers. We meet up with Christine and her kiddos Noah and Brooklyn.
Carson and Noah had a great time running around chasing each other and playing soccer. It is so nice out today, I think I even got me a little sun on my face and my white legs. :)
Also, I finally got my new camera yesterday. I am so happy, this one is very compact compared to my old one. I can slip in in my pocket or my purse without it taking up my entire purse. I love it!! It's a Canon Powershot SD1100IS ELPH!! Carson and I went everywhere looking for this camera yesterday, b/c all the Wal-Marts had it priced down, but could not find it. Blake even went to 2 Office Depots because they also had it on sale, but with no luck. You'll never guess where I found it.....ready....in good ole ZACHARY, 3 min. from our house at the Office Depot here. Dang it, guess I should have looked here first! Oh well, I got it and really tested it out today on the kids and LOVE IT!!

Day 3 of NO nunu!
Well, Day 3 has come and gone with no mention of the nunu. He's back to taking is 2 hr naps (only missed one day of this) and is sleeping perfectly at night. So, really only 1 1/2 days of crying/asking of the nunu and then it was smooth sailing from there.
WOOHOO for no more NUNU!!!

Day 2 of NO Nunu!
Man, if I knew it was going to be this easy, I would have done it a while back!!
Carson woke up about 5:45 am on Monday morning, crying for his nunu, but I explained to him the situation. He never asked for it again until nap time rolled around. He asked for it a couple times and then stated he wasn't "sleepy yet". I told him he had to have quiet time and also told him, "Your eyeballs told me they were sleepy, you need to close them and let them rest". This worked brilliantly, within 3 min. he was out like a light, slept for 2 hours!!! Yay, we have naps back, just one day of no nap I could handle, but Carson loves his naps, so I knew they would come back!
Last night Carson went to bed around 9pm (his normal bedtime), but kept getting in and out of bed, so I told him to come lay down with me. As soon as he hit the pillow in our bed, and I told him it was night night time, he was out...he did not ask for his nunu and slept ALL NIGHT LONG, waking at 7am this morning!!! I'm so proud of him, he's such a trooper to have to go through this. Now, just to get him in his own bed :), which won't be a problem!

Day 1 of NO Nunu!
So, the Easter Bunny visited our house Saturday night and took all of Carson's nunu's. He mostly only had them at nap and night time, but occasionally when he had his "moments" he would get them...and then at Mimi's he seemed to get them more because Carson has Mimi wrapped around his finger and she gives in very easily.
Yesterday (Easter Sunday), Carson did fine all day, until nap time when he had about an 1 1/2 hour fit, crying for his nunu's. But I was very strong and kept reminding him that we left them for the Easter Bunny and he took them to all the baby bunnies. He didn't want to hear any of that, he just wanted his nunu's back. I felt so bad for him, but this needed to be done. So after finally calming him down, I convinced him just to watch some cartoons and have some quiet time, which he did. After quiet time was over, we continued on with our day of playing at Mimi's and Pop's. We stayed extra late at their house, because I knew he would fall asleep on the way home, which not 5 min. after we left, he said, "I sleepy" and literally the next second I looked in the mirror and he was passed out (this was around 7:15 pm).
Around 9:30 he woke up crying, of course for his nunu's...all I thought was, oh no, here we go! So, I brought him in our bed (Blake headed for the sofa), I felt that this was a horrible experience for him and he needed my comfort. So, he fell back asleep about 10 min. later, but then probably every 1 1/2 he woke up asking and pouting for his nunu's, but usually fell back asleep after about 5-10 min. Carson woke up for the day around 5:45 am Monday morning, crying again, and then stating, "I not like the Easter Bunny, I want my nunu's back...RIGHT NOW"...it took everything in me not to laugh, but again, I explained about the Easter Bunny and the babies.

Easter Bunny!
This year we really went all out with the Easter bunny, to the fact that Blake took pictures of the "Easter Bunny" for Carson, because we left all of Carson's nunu's for the Easter Bunny to give to all the Baby Bunnies who need them. We have been telling Carson this for a few months now, just to get him prepared. Blake was so funny with all his picture taking, I didn't even know he did this until later on. Check out some of the pics!

Easter Egg Dying
What fun, what a mess, that Easter Egg dying was. Carson had a great time, he kept wanting to take them out though before they even got any color. We had to redo the newspaper twice due to Carson spilling the dye everywhere. Thank goodness I bought more than one kit. Anyway, the eggs are ready for the Easter Bunny...and so are his nunu's, waiting to go to the baby bunnies!
Check out his facial expressions in these pics!

New Orleans Zoo/Stinging Caterpillers
On Wednesday Carson and I meet up with Stacey and her two kiddos, Jackson and Charlotte, at the New Orleans Zoo. The zoo has a new Dinosaur exhibit which was pretty cool. Carson wasn't sure about it at first, the first dinosaur scared him with a big ROAR, but after explaining to him that they were not real, just make believe, he was fine. It was Charlotte that was so terrified. Poor baby, she was screaming her head off, there was no consoling her. We had a blast as always.
Here's a few pics from our day, as I was only able to take about 10 pics until I dropped my camera. Dang it!!! Blake isn't to thrilled at me for that one and not to happy about having to buy another one.
Carson had a run in with a stinging caterpillar while at the zoo. These things hurt like the dickens. Poor baby, he was leaning over into one of the fountains and I guess laid on it, he screamed for a good 5 min., luckily I had some "After Bite" in our bag and I think that took the sting out of it quicker. We definitely have to be on the look out for these things as they love Oak trees and we have two huge Oak trees right next to our house.
Here's the dreaded caterpillar that got my baby

Body Types and Camo Boots
Carson's body type:
My body type (Carson traced me)...not so sure that I like this...maybe this will inspire me to diet :)
Also, Carson has been obsessed with wearing his rubber boots EVERYWHERE...this is his lovely outfit he wore today to run errands and see Mike the Tiger. At least everyone thinks it's cute...
