Carson started swimming lessons on Monday at Crawfish Aquatics. He was so excited to go "swim like a fish", you would have never known this seeing him at the end on the first lesson. Poor baby, I took a couple peeks through the fence while he was in the pool and could hear him crying and screaming. I felt so bad for him, but he has to have it, no if's, and's or but's about it. We are at Mimi's and Pop's pond way to often for him not to learn how to swim. When the instructor brought him out of the gait, he was huffing and puffing, crying so hard. Funny thing is when he finally settled down in the car, he said it was fun. And, he told Blake and several other family members it was fun??? That is until night time came around and it was time for bedtime, I guess while laying there trying to go to sleep, it gave him time to think back about the day and that "horrid" swimming school :). He cried for at least a good hour before finally going to sleep, he kept saying he didn't want to go swimming.
So this morning came and the first thing that came out of his mouth was, "I not go swimming". But I bribed and bribed him and he finally agreed to go if I had a "surprise" for him. I told him the only way he could get a surprise was if the teacher told me he did good and there was NO crying. So all the way to the swimming school, we talked about how such a big boy he was and that swimming was fun and there was not going to be any crying today. So his teacher came and got him and I reminded him that there had to be no crying to get his surprise.
Oh my goodness he did so good today, the teacher was so impressed and there was NO crying. While peeking through the fence again today I saw him pushing off the side of the pool, floating to the instructor and then them giving High 5's and Awesomes and Good Jobs! So when swimming was over, she brought him out and said he did excellent. The first thing out of Carson's mouth was, "I get my surprise!". So, he got a new Monster truck. He loves it, along with the 16 other ones that he has!
Carson will do swimming lessons Monday thru Thursday for 2 weeks and on the last day, we get to go in and watch and take pictures. I can not wait to see my little swimmer up close and not through a fence that is wrapped in red!
