The Aftermath of Gustav

Well, we're ALIVE and WELL!!!

We spent from Sunday night till Friday morning with Mimi and Pop's. All went well, except Monday night while at Mimi's and Pop's, their generator that hooks directly to the house went out! Seems that a tree uprooted and popped the natural gas line in East Feliciana Parish, which caused their generator not to run! Thankfully they have a generator on their Prevost Bus that Pop's pulled up to the house and ran extension cords in the house to run lots of fans and also plugged in the 3 refrigerators.

After riding out the storm at our house, Blake came to Mimi's and Pop's on Wednesday afternoon. Nothing majorly happened to our house thank goodness, but there is one tree on the side of the house that wanted to come down, but our house/cable lines are holding it up. The root system on the one side is half way out, so it definitely has to be cut down....VERY SOON!! There is also another tree in the front yard that Blake said the wind was trying to blow it down also, but it never came out. So that tree will probably have to come down too.

While at Mimi's and Pop's, mom and I tried to put a puzzle together, but when we wasn't looking, Carson decided he was going to try and help up, but instead, threw it all on the floor. Other that that, we just basically hung around and watched TV. Thankfully they have Direct TV, so we always had TV to watch. We also hooked Carson's TV/DVD up in the sun room so he could watch his movies.

Our power came on about 7:45 am on Friday morning and then the Cable came on around 1:15 pm. Man, we are spoiled to our electricity and cable...

I will add pictures of our "adventure" later on....
